On this page we have listed information regarding travel to and from Waterloo and accommodation options to help you plan for your stay.  

TRAVEL  

TRAVEL FROM TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT (YYZ) TO WATERLOO, ONTARIO  

Waterloo is located approximately one hour by car from Toronto Pearson Airport. There are several methods to book travel from the airport to your accommodations.  

BY TAXI We have secured a special rate with Waterloo Taxi.  

• To take advantage, reserve a taxi on their form and write that you are coming for WACE conference in the Notes section. 

• Or call them at +1 (519)888-7777 and say that you are part of the WACE conference group.  

• The special conference rate is $120 CAD.  

BY AIRWAYS TRANSIT (Seats up to 8 passengers)

Reserve door-to-door service on their website. The cost ranges from $185 to $215 CAD dependant on number of passengers.  

BY LIMOUSINE (Seats up to 12 passengers)

Reserve a limousine for added comfort by reserving online or calling them at 1-519-886-8090.

BY RAIL UP Express is a direct journey from Toronto International Airport to Union Station in downtown Toronto. Once at Union station, transfer to the Via Rail train or a Go Train.  

• The Kitchener train station is located at 126 Weber St. W.  

• Via runs three trains a day in each direction. 

• GO Trains run frequently between Kitchener and Toronto and are most used by commuters in the area.

BY BUS There are buses that travel between YYZ and Kitchener/Waterloo. You can find the different options here.  

BY CAR  

Take ON-401 W towards London. 

Keep left at the fork, follow signs for QEW/Hamilton/Ontario 403/Ontario 410/Brampton. 

Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Ontario 401 W/London and merge onto ON-401 W. 

Take exit 278 to merge onto ON-8 W toward Kitchener/Waterloo. 

AIR TRAVEL TO TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (YYZ)  

Air Canada is offering a discounted group rate for delegates and guests travelling for the 2023 WACE World Conference. To qualify for the discount, a minimum of 10 eligible passengers must book flights from various locations into Toronto Pearson Airport (airport code: YYZ).

3. Access up to 10 per cent discount on all eligible flights.

Applicable Rules 

• The booking must be made to Toronto, YYZ (ON) 

• The travel period begins Monday, June 19, 2023, and ends Friday, July 07, 2023 

• For North America 5% discount applies on standard fares, 10% discount on flex fares & higher. For international travel 10% discount on standard fares & higher. 

• All bookings made using the promotion code will count toward the minimum 10 passenger requirement.  

AIR TRAVEL TO REGION OF WATERLOO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (YKF) 

There are a limited number of flights to the Waterloo airport (airport code: YKF). Learn more about destinations and arrival locations.

We have partnered with several hotels near the conference venue to offer you discounted rates.  

Please book your hotel stay by May 25th to benefit from the discounted rates.

GETTING AROUND WATERLOO 

SHUTTLES FROM HOTELS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO 

Shuttles will run regularly between hotels and the University of Waterloo for conference attendees. Check back closer to the conference for confirmed shuttle frequency and schedules. 

CAR 

Waterloo Region is easy to access by vehicle. Vehicle rentals are available through most major rental agencies.  

Taxi Service  

We have secured special rates with Waterloo Taxi for your time here. Call +1 (519)888-7777 to book. Mention that you are part of the WACE conference to receive the discounted fares.  

Service from hotels in St Jacob’s (all primary hotel options listed) to University of Waterloo: These will be fixed rate of $17.00 each way for up to 4 passengers.  

Mini tours within the Waterloo Region: Offered at an hourly rate of $50.00 CAD for up to 4 passengers. 

In town travel: We will have $5.00 coupons available. More information about obtaining coupons to come.  

Uber and Lyft are also available for individual trips. 

BUS 

Grand River Transit (GRT) is the public transit operator for the Region of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. It operates daily bus services across Waterloo and the University of Waterloo campus. 

ION LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT 

ION is Waterloo Region’s light rail transit (LRT) system. It runs between Kitchener’s Fairview Park Mall and Waterloo’s Conestoga Mall, with stops at the University of Waterloo campus. ION trains connect passengers to the existing bus system (Grand River Transit), making it easy to travel across the region. Use the trip planner for information about routes and schedules.
