WACE Global Student Collaborative Project Pilot: A success!
The WACE Global Student Collaborative Projects’ (WGSCP) program in collaboration with Australian edtech, company Practera was successfully piloted in late 2020. It connected students from 9 WACE Institutional members from 8 countries in a WACE transnational project experience that included an industry project, cultural intelligence training, project presentations and reflection sessions.
Student reflecting on their experiences provided the following feedback

- 88% Increased understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- 87% Increased their ability to communicate and collaborate with team members across cultures.

Lisa McAuley, CEO of the Global Trade Professionals Alliance based in Sydney, Australia was a project client. She said “This was a great program to quickly get actionable insight on specific issues from students with a global perspective. For just a couple of hours of my time, I was inspired by connecting with talented young people from around the world in a really structured way.”

The pilot program ran a 2-week virtual project where teams of students worked collaboratively to solve a challenge for a real organisation. The pilot focused on Shared Value projects aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) creating strategies for better economic and social outcomes for the communities they serve. Students participated by working collaboratively as part of an international, interdisciplinary and inter-cultural student team virtually to deliver a project for organisations in Australia, Canada, UK, Germany and China.
Practera is an Australian edtech company delivering experiential learning projects programs scale to Universities across Australia and the USA.
