General Description of Co-op Programs
The Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP) at Oregon Tech demonstrates the power of effective business/education partnerships. MECOP’s strength is the imaginative ideas it is founded upon: a voluntary annual assessment on member companies; high industry interaction with higher education systems and students; and continual improvement as the educational institution adjusts curriculum based on industry recommendations. These Oregon Tech majors may participate in Co-op programs: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, and Software Engineering Technology. Besides Co-ops, Oregon Tech students also engage in internships, externships, community field work and other experiential learning.
