The spring of my junior year I spent abroad, where I continued my studies at the National University of Singapore (which is world ranked the #8 engineering school) followed by a summer internship at ExxonMobil. AMANDA WHELAN
MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OF NEWFOUNDLAND “My six engineering co-op terms have provided me with two years of practical experience in the oil and gas industry in both Canada and the
United States. Having worked with people from all over the world, I have learned more about myself and my profession than I could ever have learned in a classroom. I am now starting my career with Husky Energy, one of my co-op employers, with confidence in my abilities as an engineer and a solid foundation of technical and professional skills.”
STANTON WHITEHEAD
MOHAWK COLLEGE OF APPLIED ARTS & TECHNOLOGY “My co-op experience was an amazing complement to the in-school education I received. During a 12-month work term at Hamsar Diversco Inc.,
an electronics manufacturer, I developed industry-related skills, gained valuable experience, and established lasting professional and personal relationships. These are opportunities that cannot be replicated in a classroom setting. There’s no doubt that Mohawk’s co-op program has greatly prepared me to enter the workforce.”
YUEN NI TUN NATHAN
THE HONG KONG POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY “I major in Accounting and Finance and have developed my career through multiple internships in the business sector: PwC Assurance, EY Advisory
and Mutual Trust Corporate Finance. Through these Co-op programs, I have not only obtained extensive business exposures and hands-on work experiences but also learnt to work with people across different cultures and business backgrounds. From my first internship to obtaining a graduate job offer, PolyU CAPS has provided major support and career advice.”
