I had two amazing internship opportunities with The Estee Lauder Companies at their R&D site in Melville, NY. Throughout my time at ELC I learned about the companies’ family roots which have clearly made an impact on the company culture and every employee’s commitment to driving product superiority with high-touch consumer experiences. The unique skills I developed seamlessly translated back into the classroom as well as my full-time role that I began with ELC in July 2018 after graduation.   Manfred’s 20-year career at BMW started through a series of co-ops during his engineering studies. Since his graduation in 2011, he has led and accompanied more than 300 improvement projects, as well as multiple creative team workshops and scientific research projects. Further highlights of his career have been the development of an innovative knowledge management system and the value-adding production system at the BMW Group Plant Steyr, Austria. In 2017 he won the gold medal at the BMW Internal Lean Management Competition. At present Manfred is a Lean Manager at BMW and the president of his alma mater’s alumni club.   Dr. Kristopher (Kris) Rallah-Baker FRANZCO, a Yuggera/Biri-Gubba- Juru man, is Australia’s first Indigenous Ophthalmologist. Kris is a founding member and currently the President of the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association.   Mr. Samuels has more than 30 years’ experience in board level analog, RF, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design. After a variety of electrical engineering roles at Texas Instruments, Mr. Samuels joined L3 Technologies Space and Sensors, where he led the electrical engineering effort to develop infrared sensors for the F-35 Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) and Electro- Optical Distributed Aperture System (EO DAS), the only 360-degree, spherical situational awareness system in the world.   With more than two decades of industry experience, Kyle Sayers oversees the management of projects and client relationships, and providing direction and leadership to the team at LeChase Construction. In 2009, Kyle was promoted to vice president, in 2012 was named executive vice president, and in 2018 was named COO. He is a graduate of the Green Building Contractor’s Future Construction Leaders of NYS Program and Rochester Institute of Technology’s Construction Management Advisory Board.   Maria Sit was the first SFU Business Co-op student placed abroad at HSBC (Hong Kong) in 1993.
