General Description of Co-op Programs
Every academic program at RIT offers something in the way of experiential education, with cooperative education the signature model. RIT has the fourth oldest and one of the largest co-op programs in the world, annually placing more than 4,400 students in more than 6,000 work assignments with nearly 2,200 employers throughout the U.S. and overseas. Co-op is mandatory for many academic programs and is defined as full-time, paid work experience directly related to the student’s academic field of study and career interests.
