  Tengku Tan Sri (Dr) Tengku Mahaleel has over 35 years of experience in food, paper, oil, marine, tobacco, aviation and automotive industries. Throughout the years Tan Sri has contributed a great deal towards UM, such as the Lead Facilitator for Student Affairs Strategic Planning in 2013, set up Tengku Mahaleel fund for Best Student Award for 1st Residential College for the past 7 years, helped UM to revive UM Alumni association, he is the special guest and speaker for the 1st Residential College for the past 10 years, he organized a job interview techniques workshop for final year students, he became a keynote speaker at UM MBA Graduation class in late 2014, and has recently been appointed as the Advisor to the Faculties of Economics & Administration and Business & Accountancy. During his career as a CEO with the country’s first national car manufacturer, PROTON, he engaged UM’s Faculty of Engineering to test their diesel engines.   Mr. Chaiya Thongrattana held a co-op position as a Maintenance Engineer at Thai J. Press Co., Ltd. The experience he gained from the co-op enabled him to have a rapid career advancement. Upon his graduation, he worked as an Automatic Tool Design Engineer at Fujikura (Thailand) Co., Ltd.. Currently, he is serving as the Manager of (Asia, AME) Advance Manufacturing Engineering Department at Western Digital (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Thailand Representative Office). His responsibilities include developing product technology, assembling tooling and automation line for plants in Asia. Moreover, he has continuously supervised the co-op students during their placements at the company.   Phil West is chairman of Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, and head of the firm’s Transactions and Tax Department. One of America’s premier international tax lawyers according to publications such as Chambers USA, Chambers Global, and the Legal 500, he has extensive experience advising on international business operations and transactions and served for nearly four years as the Treasury Department’s International Tax Counsel (senior international tax lawyer in US government). In that position, he played a central role in virtually every policy, legislative, and regulatory development in the international tax area and led global tax treaty negotiations, discussions, and ratification efforts. He studied abroad during college at the London Center for Economic and Political Studies, and had numerous clerkships and law-related positions during law school.   Mr. Albert Yip, Head of Audit Services (Asia), Manulife Financial, possesses over 25 years’ experience in corporate finance, internal auditing, risk management, compliance and information security across Asia Pacific and United States. He has held a number senior internal audit positions across 11 Asian countries with regional responsibility over 40 high-calibre internal audit professionals, including vice president, actuarial, fraud investigations, etc. Albert received Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and his First Honours degree in Accountancy from City University of Hong Kong. Albert a FCPA (Australia), CMA, CRISC, CRMA and Forensic CPA (U.S.), is the Honorary Advisor & Chairman of Corporate Governance Committee of CMA Australia; a member of the SEC Committee of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Deputy Chairman of Financial Service Committee of CPA Australia. A seasoned speaker, Albert has been guest speaker at various professional bodies, universities, international conferences and forums in Asia and United States.
